South Carolina Campers

ADHD Summer Camp for South Carolina Residents

South Carolina families often tell us the same thing: ‘My child is smart, funny, and full of potential but the social part of life is exhausting.’ Camp Sequoia exists for those kids. Director Lux has spent several decades recognizing that our kids need an appropriate place to thrive over the summer. Sequoia provides that curated community to set our kids up for success.

We’re a supportive overnight summer camp for boys and girls ages 8-18 Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. Campers come to Sequoia for a real summer-camp experience, plus the kind of structure and coaching that helps kids with ADHD grow socially and emotionally.

Summer Exploration in a Supportive Environment

Sequoia has traditional camp fun built in: swimming, team sports, art, outdoor adventure, and a waterfront on an 800-acre lake. What makes it ‘Sequoia’ is how we run the day – with predictable routines, clear expectations, and staff who know how to coach executive functioning and friendship skills without making camp feel like therapy.

Families who are new to specialized camps often appreciate that we aren’t a high-clinical setting. In fact, we designed camp for kids who can manage in mainstream school environments but need a different social learning environment than typical camps provide. For the full picture, see our  Mission & Approach and Who We Serve

If your child is twice-exceptional, advanced in some areas, and struggling in others, you’ll find plenty of familiar stories here. We’ve written about that profile and what a strength-based approach looks like in practice.

One reason campers make meaningful gains at Sequoia is repetition in the right context. Camp provides hundreds of ‘practice reps’ for coping with disappointment, joining a group, and recovering after a misstep. Our staff is right there to help kids reflect and reset.

Our PA Residential Summer Camp is a Great Fit for South Carolina Families

Traveling from the Southeast can feel like a big step – but for many families, that distance is part of the magic. Camp becomes a true ‘summer home,’ and kids get a fresh start socially. Our staffing ratio of 2:5 helps us support that transition thoughtfully.
