School Year Trips

Campers at the beach splashing

2020-2021 weekend trips will be deferred until further notice. For campers over the age of 15, Sequoia is offering interest-based one to two week long “craft your own” Sequoia adventures. Director Lux has taken kids hiking, caving, sailing, fishing, paintballing, as well as to National Parks and historical and cultural sites. He would be happy to discuss this type of custom excursion with families who would be looking for an experience with their child and his friends for a longer (1-2 week) duration during a school year break. This would allow us to reasonably do participant testing and provide a localized bubble of activities. If interested in creating a specialized small group trip, please reach out to Brian or Reema.

Our Programs

Sequoia typically hosts SIX trips during the off season to destinations in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware. A camp registered nurse, Director Brian Lux and favorite staff from our summer programs will supervise each of these trips with a 2:5 staffing ratio. These excursions are designed to be social opportunities for participants in a fun and supportive environment. Many families use these trips as a means to reconnect with summer friends or to bring a new friend into the Camp Sequoia community. Our campers will have the opportunity to engage with some incredible destinations and dynamic staff who have been trained to help children work on building social skills and frustration tolerance experientially.

Programs generally run from 9 am Saturday until 5 pm Sunday evening (specific pick up times will be provided upon registration). We offer a “bring a new friend” referral discount for each program as well as a discount for attending all school year programs when hosting these events. Optional Friday night hotel accommodations at our points of departure and supervision are available. With the exception of Resort Destinations (such as Kalahari) hotels are typically Hyatt properties with two campers per room with staff in connecting, adjoining or proximal rooms.

Our family loves the weekend adventures. They are great for our son. Brian and his team always have great destinations and know how to relate to kids in a way that they appreciate.HollyParent
