Sequoia is excited to be offering weekend adventures for the 2022-2023 season for campers. Depending on local transmission rates, our participants may be required to take a rapid test at the beginning of the trip to ensure our group is Covid negative. We have seven trips scheduled for this year.
Sequoia is excited to once again be able to host our weekend trips during the off season to destinations in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware. A camp registered nurse, Director Brian Lux and favorite staff from our summer programs will supervise each of these trips with a 2:5 staffing ratio. These excursions are designed to be social opportunities for participants in a fun and supportive environment. Many families use these trips as a means to reconnect with summer friends or to bring a new friend into the Camp Sequoia community. Our campers will have the opportunity to engage with some incredible destinations and dynamic staff who have been trained to help children work on building social skills and frustration tolerance experientially. For the 2022-2023 off season, we will be holding trips based on CDC information and the local guidelines of areas we typically attend. We will be asking that all participants to be tested at the start of the trip to ensure the safety of our population.
Programs generally run from 9 am Saturday until 5 pm Sunday evening (specific pick up times will be provided upon registration). Optional Friday night hotel accommodations at our points of departure and supervision are available. With the exception of Resort Destinations (such as Kalahari) hotels are typically Hyatt properties with two campers per room with staff in connecting, adjoining or proximal rooms.
Our family loves the weekend adventures. They are great for our son. Brian and his team always have great destinations and know how to relate to kids in a way that they appreciate.
To kick off our 2022 weekend adventures, we visited the Souderton Art Jam Festival to explore vendors from all over the East Coast, enjoyed live music, and visited the Quakertown Farmer’s market for lunch to try some local cuisine. We also went to low impact Gellyball at a local paintball course and capped off our weekend of adventure with make your own pottery and ice cream from the Udder Bar.
One of our most popular trips, featuring the International Spy Museum and Southern Maryland Comic-Con. This trip is a blast for anyone who enjoys films, TV, art, anime, comics, cosplay, gaming, etc, and our attendees often come dressed up for the festivities at Comic Con! On Sunday, it’s time to don our secret agent cap and partake in everyone’s wildest James Bond adventures.
Our classic Kalahari water park adventure! Join us for our most popular weekend adventure to the largest Indoor Water Park in the USA, where we spend the weekend enjoying the park and glamping in the Resort Penthouse. A wide host of our favorite staff attend this trip in addition to familiar camper faces from this summer. As this trip has filled up every year, sign up soon if your son would like to join our December reunion!
For our January trip, we will be visiting the inner harbor, bowling, playing laser tag, and doing a robotics workshop at Snapology, a facility specializing in STEM creation activities.
Urban Air and Arnold’s Family Fun center, where we will play laser tag, ride go karts, partake in the arcade and jumptastic attractions, and much more!
A dolphin sighting boat ride around the Jersey Shore and an action-packed day at Six Flags Amusement Park!
