Vermont families are often looking for a camp that feels outdoorsy and real. For neurodiverse kids, Sequoia provides something much more. Camp Sequoia is exactly that blend: a classic overnight camp experience, powered by a US-based staff team that knows ADHD and social learning inside and out.
Our summer campus is in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania. Campers come from across New England and beyond. Additionally, our Vermont kids tend to appreciate the combination of nature, movement, and clear structure.
At Sequoia, we don’t ‘talk about’ skills in the abstract, instead we practice them all day. Joining a group, coping with a rule change, dealing with a loss in a game, taking feedback from a counselor, getting to an activity on time: these are the moments where ADHD shows up. They’re also the moments where kids can learn strategies that carry back into school and home life, when supported by the right adults.
We run camp with predictable routines and a high staff-to-camper ratio (2:5), which helps campers feel safe enough to stretch. Our program model is explained in our Mission & Approach and Who We Serve
The setting supports a lot of outdoor time: an 800-acre lake for boating and fishing, plus plenty of space for games, wilderness skills, and exploration. Vermont kids who love being outside often find that nature + structure is a powerful combination for regulation. We also offer a range of STEM and Art based activities for kids to find their niche over the summer.
If you’re curious how we think about social development, especially for bright kids , our article on early intervention in social skills is a helpful read.
We know sending a child out of state is a big decision. We work hard to keep families informed and supported throughout the summer, and we encourage parents to connect with current families during the admissions process.
