Staff Packing List

This list serves as a general guideline; please bring what you feel is appropriate based on our dress code and what you’re comfortable with.  Camp is very informal.  There are card operated laundry machines in the dorms. The Perkiomen School provides Sequoia with a number of these cards for our staff to share. Staff are responsible for putting money on the cards. We will also do a trip to Wal-Mart the first night of staff orientation so you can get anything you might need if you are flying in.

    • A watch, waterproof is recommended (crucial to being on time for camp activities, as Sequoia is a technology-free zone for campers)
    • Two sets of twin sized sheets
    • Pillow
  • Light blanket
  • Power Strip and extension cord
  • Backpack
  • Clipboard
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Overnight bag (in case you travel on your days off, or your division goes on an overnight trip)
  • Enough clothes to last 7—10 days.
    • Note that Sequoia T-shirts are required to be worn when on campus
  • Several towels
  • Bathing suits
  • Shower caddy
  • 1 or 2 “nice” outfits for going out/staff banquet
  • Sneakers (all staff must wear sneakers and socks except to and from the pool)
  • Flip flops/sandals (for at the pool)
  • Any sports equipment you might want to use (baseball glove, favorite frisbee, etc.)
  • If you have an old cell phone we recommend bringing it in case yours gets lost or damaged
  • Cell phone charger, laptop, laptop cord
  • Fan (there is A/C in the dorms, but many staff have voiced that some of the upper floors can get stuffy on really hot days, so if you like to stay cool, we recommend)
  • Water bottle
  • Back Up Water Bottle
  • One more water bottle if you are prone to losing water bottles
  • Sunglasses (Please do not bring Oakleys or any other expensive brand. Camp will not be responsible for replacement if broken)
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Spray
  • Rain jacket/umbrella/rainy day boots
  • You may keep food and drinks in your room with permission of your division head; however, we cannot allow any food with tree nuts to be kept in the dorms.
  • A few pens, stamps, envelopes etc. (you may need to mail things while at camp)
  • Cash for a laundry card (recommended: $15 to $20)

If you own any of these items, we recommend bringing them along (Any basic camping supplies, like a tent and sleeping bag, will be provided by camp as needed for trips):

  • Camping/Outdoor Gear
  • Tent
  • lawn chairs
  • Hammock
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Flashlight/Head Lamp
  • Any supplies you want for your activities
  • Lawn/Board games you would like to share with staff/campers
  • Portable phone charger (helpful for longer trips)
  • An extra set of car keys if you’re bringing a car to camp (recommended but not required)
**It rarely gets cool at camp. Excessive cool weather clothes aren’t necessary
